Google advertising can use different click or attribution identifiers depending on campaign type, privacy environment and platform behavior. GCLID, GBRAID and WBRAID can help connect an advertising interaction with campaign context, but they are not fraud scores.
GCLID
GCLID is commonly associated with Google Ads auto-tagging and can help downstream systems connect a landing-page visit with advertising attribution where available.
GBRAID and WBRAID
GBRAID and WBRAID are attribution identifiers used in privacy-constrained environments. Their presence and use depend on the advertising and device context.
Why these identifiers matter for traffic quality
When an identifier is available, it can help an advertiser tie visitor evidence back to a paid interaction or campaign record. It should be read beside timestamp, landing page, device, session, IP and other evidence rather than used as proof of validity or invalidity.
What if an identifier is missing?
Missing identifiers do not automatically mean suspicious traffic. Consent choices, browser behavior, campaign configuration and platform rules can affect which identifiers are present. A robust traffic-quality system should gracefully handle both tagged and untagged events.
